About SAATHI
In Dubai and all across United Arab Emirates, there are several individuals with special needs who are challenged with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Downs Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Dyslexia, Aspergers, hearing, vision, mobility/physical needs or other multiple challenges.
Though confirmed statistics are not available, it is estimated that the number would run into thousands with a significant number belonging to the Indian expatriate community. Although several organizations dedicated to the care and education of persons with disabilities are operating over the past few years, significant challenges still exist in terms of awareness and integration into the society. The need for a concerted and cohesive approach to is very critical to their development and acceptance into the society with due dignity and empathy.
